Biography
Jade Bridge, a New York-based quartet, revives China’s instrumental heritage through its music. The group originated in that city’s Chinatown, where its distinctive sound arises from four accomplished Chinese-American musicians who each maintain active solo careers. National Heritage Fellowship recipient Tang Liangxian anchors the ensemble on papa, the Chinese lute, alongside Sisi Chen on yangqin (hammered dulcimer), Zhang Bao-Li on erbu (fiddle), and Chen Tao on dizi (bamboo flute).
