JAGMAC stands out as a dance-oriented pop band composed of six siblings. The act first drew notice in 2015 through the singles “Existence” and “Get Your Groove Back.” After the release of their Top 20 Billboard Hot Club-charting single “Soldier,” the group delivered the 2018 EP Right Back with You.

Formed in Baltimore in 2014, JAGMAC takes its name from the first initials of its members’ given names. The lineup showcases the Patalinghug siblings—Jared, Angelique, Gabriel, Emmanuel “Manjo,” Alyssa, and Carlos “CJ”—who were born to parents of half-Filipino and half-Polish heritage. Growing up, the six studied taekwondo at their father’s martial arts studio, an experience that later shaped the band’s choreography. In 2005 they jointly wrote a song for their father’s surprise birthday party, an exercise that helped spark their decision to pursue music together. Before long the siblings began appearing at local events and charity concerts. Early on they performed under the name Soul Sonic 6 and later tried Word Up and Musix before adopting JAGMAC in 2014. By the close of 2015 several videos and singles, among them “Existence,” “Get Your Groove Back,” and “What’s Right with Me,” had appeared online. The next year the group served as support for Little Mix on tour and issued the single “Soldier,” which reached number 15 on Billboard’s Hot Club Chart. In 2018 JAGMAC completed a U.S. tour, unveiled the debut EP Right Back with You, and earned the title of Radio Disney’s “NBT” (Next Big Thing). Their sophomore EP, Like a Band, followed in July 2019.
