Biography
Renowned bassist Jah Wobble fronts the group Invaders of the Heart, whose sound centers on an experimental blend of global musical traditions. Departing Public Image Ltd. during the early 1980s, Wobble promptly launched a series of solo recordings that included The Legend Lives On and similar titles, later shifting to releases issued under the Invaders of the Heart name—projects that essentially function as his solo efforts augmented by invited collaborators. Multiple albums have appeared under the Invaders of the Heart banner across subsequent years, beginning with Without Judgement and continuing through Rising Above Bedlam and The Sun Does Rise; the last of these featured contributions from Baaba Maal, Dolores O'Riordan, Natasha Atlas, Gavin Friday, Najma Akhtar, and Chaka Demus. In 2016 Wobble revived the Invaders of the Heart project for Every Thing Is No Thing, enlisting Tony Allen and Nik Turner as special guests.
