Between stints in California and Texas, JAHMED stepped forward as a rapper with his first release, the single “ARCHIVE,” issued in early 2020. Bold storytelling delivered through sharp, adaptable vocals powered a string of high-energy tracks that swiftly earned him a dedicated underground audience, as “JEEP” and “FIAT” each drew hundreds of thousands of streams. Several of those cuts were gathered on the eight-track mini-album THEBOOFMOBILE (2020), a release that framed his anthems within a loosely conceptual structure. The project in turn attracted the notice of G-Eazy, who enlisted the newcomer for the politically charged single “Love Is Gone.”
