Jahméne Douglas finished as runner-up on the U.K. edition of The X Factor in 2012, emerging as one of that season’s most warmly received participants. The Birmingham native, born in 1991, had endured a challenging childhood and turned to music for comfort. At twenty-one he auditioned for the Simon Cowell-created series, where mentor Nicole Scherzinger guided him to increasing viewer support through his commanding voice. Following the finale, RCA offered a contract that led to the July 2013 release of his debut album, Love Never Fails, which reached the top of the British album chart and featured his version of David Guetta’s “Titanium” as a single.

Two years later Douglas moved to the independent Moonshot Music imprint and began preparing a second album alongside acclaimed writers Diane Warren and Andrea Martin. Issued in 2015 under the single name Jahméne, the track “Down for Love” introduced an old-school hip-hop/R&B aesthetic. Two additional singles appeared the following year, preceding the album Unfathomable Phantasmagoria.

In 2018 Jahmene joined British R&B star Gabrielle on tour and subsequently mounted his own series of headline concerts.
