Biography
From their base in Oakland, California, electro-pop duo James & Evander construct expansive sonic environments that stretch from chillwave textures into dancefloor material. Adam Myatt and Glenn Jackson first connected during art school and started performing together in 2007, united by their enthusiasm for synthesizers and sonic exploration. Under the James & Evander name, the pair put out two EPs across 2009, opening with the gentle Awkward Turtle in June before delivering the kinetic This Isn't the Beginning of Anything that October. The next autumn brought the icier Sunlight & Circuitry EP, after which the spacy Constellating EP appeared in 2011 as their first release featuring vocals and secured a deal with Velvet Blue Music. Their initial output on the label, the single Let's Go, surfaced in March 2012 and was followed two months later by the full-length Bummer Pop.
