Biography
James Carney started out in New York as both an orchestral brass player and a pop keyboardist before emerging as an excellent Los Angeles-based pianist whose advanced style builds upon the innovations of the past. Jazz entered his musical life in 1986, prompting studies at the California Institute of the Arts that led to his graduation in 1990 along with a couple of stimulating sessions for the Jacaranda label.
