Biography
James Wilson serves as a singer, songwriter, and worship leader from his Maryland base, where he fuses alternative CCM with energetic praise and worship sounds. In 2019 he issued his first full-length project, Songs for the Church.
Born in Lucedale, Mississippi, Wilson issued his initial EP, Stuck in the Rain, during 2011. Following his move to Maryland he joined the team at Living Hope Church in Lexington Park. Drawing on his keen melodic instincts and an encouraging blend of CCM pop and rock, he wrote material expressly intended to enlarge the body of worship songs. Upon its 2019 arrival, Songs for the Church swiftly attracted listeners, and the lead track “Wait On the Lord” reached the summit of Billboard’s Gospel Digital Songs chart.
