Biography
During the sixth season of American Idol, contestant Jared Cotter won over the panel of Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul by delivering Stevie Wonder's "Lately," which propelled him forward into both Hollywood week and the semi-finals portion. Although Cotter pursued singing throughout his childhood and teenage years, he also held the position of captain on his high school's varsity basketball team and took part in stage performances including Our Town. Aspiring to claim the title as the first winner from New York formed Cotter's objective on the program.
