Biography
In 2010 Jason Simon, guitarist and vocalist in the brooding Washington D.C. psych rock outfit Dead Meadow as well as nephew of The Wire co-creator David Simon, stepped out as a solo singer and songwriter. His atmospheric, nocturnal country-folk is sparser and more intimate than his Dead Meadow recordings, reflecting the influence of Bert Jansch, Townes Van Zandt, and Sandy Bull far more than that of Black Sabbath and Blue Cheer. Simon and Dead Meadow bass player Steve Kille recorded the self-titled debut, issued that September on New York City’s Tee Pee Records.
