Born in Manhattan, New York City, Jason Yudoff pursued multiple roles as a singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and percussionist after initially entering the entertainment industry as a talent agent. He eventually took the stage himself during a two-year global tour of Tap Dogs, handling keyboards, percussion, and vibes. Back in New York, Yudoff offered his services as a pianist and percussionist for various industrial shows and as a supporting musician, while also building a separate path through commercial voice-over work. Establishing the group Jason Yudoff & the New Hotness allowed him to showcase his original compositions in local clubs. The year 2004 saw the independent release of his first album, Smoke Sex Water. His follow-up effort, Live at the Cutting Room, came out on November 26, 2005. On May 13, 2008, he officially issued another studio album titled Tragic Hero.
