Biography
During the 1990s comedian Jay Hickman released multiple albums on Laughing Hyena, the same label that had earlier boosted Jeff Foxworthy’s rise. He first drew notice by performing regularly across southern strip clubs ranging from Myrtle Beach to Atlanta, later capturing those shows on tape and selling the copies himself. Although Hickman died before his humor reached a broad audience, the label continues to fulfill a request he made shortly before his death by keeping the recordings available for later listeners to encounter on their own.
