Jazz Fruits Music operates as a playlist and compilation series under the Fruits Music label, emphasizing soothing jazz instrumentals. Online, the playlists have drawn thousands of views, and releases such as the 2022 album Rush Hour reached the Top Ten of the Billboard Jazz Albums chart.
Dutch DJ and producer Stef Van Vugt founded Fruits Music in 2016. During his teenage years he began creating music as Steve Void, later earning notice through remixes of songs by the Weeknd and additional artists. He then collaborated with Alex Adair on original material including "Burnin'." In 2016 Van Vugt achieved a hit single titled "Chemistry" and joined Matoma, Steve James, and Cheat Codes on tour. That year he also introduced Fruits Music—originally known as Strange Fruits—assembling licensed tracks across several imprints: the hip-hop and downtempo-focused Lofi Fruits, the EDM-infused Dance Fruits, and the jazz-oriented Jazz Fruits Music. Among the resulting releases, the 2022 collections Jazz Fruits Music, Vol. 1, Evergreen, and Rush Hour (the last peaking at number six on the Jazz Albums chart) function as relaxed, mood-driven compilations.
