Biography
In 1991 a fleeting supergroup of leading young jazz figures undertook a tour that presented the top "Young Lions" of the period with clarity and focus. Trumpeters Roy Hargrove and Marlon Jordan, altoist Antonio Hart, Tim Warfield on tenor, guitarist Mark Whitfield, pianist Benny Green, bassist Christian McBride, and drummer Carl Allen made up the roster. The unit issued a single strong album on Novus before its soon-to-be bandleaders each struck out independently.
