Biography
Jazzsteppa emerged as a dubstep trio whose core personnel stabilized around vocalist AndrEa, MC BarBie on trombone and effects, and DJ Xperimentalist handling drums and effects. Operating as a live ensemble in an environment dominated by studio producers, the group first surfaced in 2008 through a pair of short-form releases on Hotflush and MG77. In 2009 the singles “Big Swing Sound” and “Alpha” came out on Studio Rockers and Police in Helicopters respectively, followed later that same year by a self-titled CD that functioned mainly as a compilation. Two years afterward they delivered their second full-length album, Hyper Nomads.
