Biography
Jeanne Jolly performs as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and pianist yet resists placement within any single genre. Country, folk, jazz, soul, and soft rock threads run through her recordings, informed by the work of Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, Dolly Parton, and Renée Fleming. A native of North Carolina, she completed a master’s degree in vocal performance at the New England Conservatory of Music. Once settled in Los Angeles, she linked up with Chris Botti, accompanied the trumpeter on tour, and joined forces with country artist Bob Woodruff. After issuing an EP in 2008 she returned to North Carolina and cut the 2010 EP Falling in Carolina. She later toured with the R&B collective the Foreign Exchange and appeared on their 2011 live DVD/CD set Dear Friends: An Evening with Foreign Exchange. The following year she released Angels on Foreign Exchange Music.
