Andrew Caddick, previously a member of Fantastic Magic, helms Jeans Wilder as his solo outlet, delivering a gritty, drowsy, lo-fi project similar to acts like Best Coast and Washed Out. Caddick had already completed a handful of recordings as Jeans Wilder before his stint in Fantastic Magic, then revived the name in spring 2008 to produce a fresh batch of material. Across the following two years the project placed multiple split singles and cassette tapes with assorted indie labels, among them Antiques on Night People, a split cassette with A Gal via Bathetic, the split 7" with Best Coast titled "Tough Guys/ Up All Night" on Atelier Ciseaux, and a split 12" alongside Jen Paul released by La Station Radio. Although she was never a core member, drummer Melissa Duenas joined in fall 2009 to complete Jeans Wilder's live lineup. The project's first full-length, Nice Trash, appeared in summer 2010; two years later came the slightly more focused Totally, which concentrated on Caddick's beachy pop and lo-fi excursions.
