Jef Neve

Holding positions as artist in residence at Turnhout's Warande and instructor at the Stedelijke Academie voor Muziek, Jef Neve earns widespread recognition as one of Europe's most gifted young jazz composers. The Flemish pianist, born in 1977, completed his classical studies at Leuven's Lemmensinstituut and applied his abilities across settings that stretched from orchestras to funk-pop bands. His breakthrough arrived when he joined forces with bassist Piet Verbist and drummer Teun Verbruggen to create the Jef Neve Trio. After issuing four albums that drew strong critical praise and composing the soundtrack for Felix Van Groeningen's Dagen Zonder Lief, he collaborated with U.S. jazz/hip-hop vocalist José James on the 2010 release For All We Know.
