Biography
Texan Jeff McIlwain crafts ambient and experimental techno that echoes the classic British style of the early 1990s, itself rooted in Detroit’s earlier innovations. His work pairs strong melodic lines with frequently abrasive textures. The self-titled debut appeared in 1999 on Isophlux. Through 2003 he kept up a consistent output, issuing one full-length each year along with various singles and EPs. Recording also as Lusine, McIlwain joined Ghostly in 2004 and delivered Serial Hodgepodge that year, Podgelism in 2007, A Certain Distance in 2009, and Waiting Room in 2013.
