Biography
Jeff Watson earned his chief reputation as the virtuoso guitarist in hard rock ensemble Night Ranger, yet he also stood out for his signature eight-finger playing approach. He first attracted notice by performing regularly across the Bay Area, fronting his own outfit until he entered Night Ranger in 1981; throughout the following decade the band landed several successes, among them the single "(You Can Still) Rock in America" and the lasting "Sister Christian," ahead of their split in 1990. Watson returned in 1992 via the solo album Lone Ranger, releasing Around the Sun the subsequent year; he assembled the band Mother's Army in 1995 and joined the revived Night Ranger in 1997.
