Jeffrey East emerged as a country performer whose robust vocals carried a pronounced soulful edge, initially building momentum in Nashville through his songwriting rather than his own recordings, which he did not begin releasing until 2015. Born in Dale, Texas, he first picked up instruments while performing alongside relatives in the family band. Following shows across the state, the Easts moved to Nashville in 1993, where he kept playing music for the ensuing ten years until his focus shifted decisively toward songwriting in 2006. Harley Allen offered him a publishing contract, which lasted two years before East joined Zavitson Music Group in 2010. At ZMG he teamed with fellow writers, resulting in cuts for Dierks Bentley, Rascal Flatts, Joe Diffie, the Grascals, and Sister Hazel, along with several other artists. Signing with Peer Music in 2015 prompted him to pursue a performing career, leading to steady live appearances and online song postings that opened doors to television, including a spot on CMT’s Redneck Island and the theme for American Pickers. His debut single, “Party at the End of the Road,” arrived that same year, followed in 2017 by the releases “Roller Rink” and “Still Crazy.”
