Biography
With her daring, blues-infused vocals and skillful blending of Southern rock, folk, pop, and country, Jennie Arnau creates tracks that feel simultaneously novel and instantly recognizable—a rare equilibrium far simpler to describe than to realize. Raised in Greenville, SC, amid the Appalachian foothills, she drew her passion for music from her father, a textile worker who also played keyboards. After relocating to New York City in the mid-'90s, she has stayed deeply involved in the city's music community, issuing multiple independent albums including Some Never Ending Tide (2001), Small Pieces at a Time (2002), Superman Won't Take the Call (2003), and the impressive Mt. Pleasant (2007) produced by Trina Shoemaker.
