Biography
Originating from New York City, Jennifer Marks launched her gentle rock performances during the 1990s. Establishing herself within the area's music community, she put out her debut CD titled Pizza during 1998 via the independent Red Kurl Records label she founded. Following that release, she secured victories in multiple national songwriting competitions and placed tracks in movies, including the indie film Jane Doe. In 2001 she brought forth her sophomore album My Name's Not Red, which garnered solid airplay on college stations, resulting in broader national recognition along with a nod for Best New Music at the American Music Awards. During the subsequent summer Marks put forward her most intimate and seductive work to date, It Turned Me On, issued through Red Kurl Records and jointly produced by Brad Albetta along with Cameron Greider, whose credits include Freedy Johnston and P.M. Dawn.
