In 1976 Kennedy Jenson, whose contributions centered on woodwinds, synthesizer, and vocals, teamed with her brother Doug on guitar and vocals plus guitarist and vocalist Ed Johnson to launch the band Dickens. Bassist Albert Blaine and keyboardist and vocalist Charlotte Wiebe later joined the lineup, at which point the group adopted the name Jenson Interceptor in 1979. Its self-titled debut arrived the following year, with Cosmetics appearing in 1983.
