Biography
Infused with the timeless sonic textures and effortless swagger of midcentury rock & roll, the New York City quintet Jeremy & the Harlequins came together around lead singer Jeremy Fury, born Jeremy Lublin, and guitarist Craig Bonich. The pair, longtime friends who shared a vision for anthemic arrangements and indelible melodies, had previously collaborated in the short-lived Romans before deciding to assemble a new ensemble. Drummer Stevie Fury, Jeremy’s brother and musical partner since their 2006 recordings as We Are the Fury, rejoined the fold after returning from Europe; guitarists Patrick Meyer and bassist Bobby Ever completed the lineup shortly afterward.
The group entered the studio within weeks of finalizing its roster and spent the summer of 2013 laying down tracks that eventually surfaced as the 2015 debut album American Dreamer. Steven Van Zandt championed the single “Trip into the Light” on his syndicated program Little Steven’s Underground Garage, naming it Coolest Song in the World, and the track was also licensed for the Tom Cruise vehicle Edge of Tomorrow. The resulting exposure attracted the attention of Yep Roc Records, which signed the band and released their self-produced follow-up, Into the Night, in August 2016.
Two years later the group delivered Remember This, produced by Rick Parker—known for his work with Scott Weiland & the Wildabouts and Miranda Lee Richards—which climbed into the Top Ten of the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart.
