Biography
Born in Woodstock in 1971, New York native Jeremy Baum arrived several years after the celebrated music festival that put the town on the map. Whether drawn to lingering echoes of that event or steeped in the area’s deep musical heritage, he developed prodigious piano skills that secured his admission to college.
Joining a blues ensemble in New York City opened doors to performances alongside Richie Havens and Ronnie Earl, which in turn generated session opportunities that included a stretch with the Band plus additional appearances on albums and television programs. When Baum began teaching in 1997, he reduced his concert schedule, yet the pull of the music business eventually brought him back to front his own trio. In 2002 he assembled his debut album, Lost River Jams, which Flying Yak Records released that autumn.
