Hunt stands among the era's most inventive composers, frequently devising notations that guide intricate bodily motions through spatial dimensions. In this way, his performances transform gatherings into rituals echoing music's ancient divinatory functions across diverse cultures and eras. A notable instance appears in the 1966 work "Sur John Dee," featured within John Cage's provocative anthology "Notations," issued in 1969 by Something Else Press. Beyond composition, Hunt excelled as a pioneering designer of computer systems, forging enigmatic connections between digital technologies and raw vital forces within his sculptural installations. One such piece presented a voodoo hut equipped with computerized sensors that detect nearness and activate electronic tones, created for the New Music America festival held in Houston.
