Biography
Jesse James Dupree, long identified as the chainsaw-wielding frontman of the boisterous Southern hard rock group Jackyl, chose in 2000 to launch an independent solo venture. He put together a supporting unit that included guitarist John Hayes and Roman Glick, the bassist from Brother Cane. The project yielded the album Foot Fetish, issued that summer, which let Dupree investigate additional favored influences spanning the Who to '60s R&B. Dupree returned with his second solo album in 2008, Rev It Up and Go-Go. Labeled "20 tracks of crunchy rock, cool country and old-timey radio show revelry", the record drew on a broad roster of players and associates assembled under the collective name "Dixie Inc."
