Biography
Although the pop/rock quartet Jet Lag Gemini assembled in Bergen County, NJ, a noted punk stronghold, its members hail collectively from three separate countries. Russia supplies lead vocalist and guitarist Misha Safonov, the United States supplies drummer Dan DiLiberto, and Romania supplies brothers Matei Gheorghiu on bass and Vlad Gheorghiu on lead guitar. All still below the American legal drinking age when the band formed, Jet Lag Gemini staged its debut performance in March 2003. The members kept arranging and headlining numerous concerts thereafter, sharing bills with the Matches, Halifax, Punchline, and Socratic among other acts. Doghouse Records signed Jet Lag Gemini in April 2006, releasing the summery debut EP Business early the following month of June. A season of touring then led directly to the January 2008 arrival of Fire the Cannons.
