Biography
Nashville, Tennessee, serves as the home base for Jim Ferguson, whose dual role as vocalist and upright bassist creates an unanticipated pairing. Throughout the 1990s he supplied bass on the recordings of country singer Crystal Gayle. Toward the close of that decade he issued his own swing jazz album, Not Just Another Pretty Bass. Deep Summer Music, an even more enjoyable follow-up, arrived the next year.
