Jim Stubblefield

Emerging as a key talent in the nuevo flamenco scene, California-based guitarist and composer Jim Stubblefield merges the fervor of classic flamenco with modern touches such as South American rhythms and Afro-Cuban jazz. His first album, the 1997 release November, presented his characteristic mix of worldbeat, new age, jazz, and rock, achieved through layered electric and acoustic guitar sounds that give it an updated character. Cities of Gold followed the next year, and Rhythm of the Heart appeared in 1999, featuring the Jim Stubblefield group, the guitarist’s touring ensemble since 1995.
