In Kreuzberg during 1987, five veteran punk musicians from separate outfits assembled to launch the German band Jingo De Lunch. The lineup featured Tom Schwoll of Zerstörte Jugend, Sepp Ehrensberger of Vorkriegsjugend, Steve Hahn of Kult-Huren, Henning Menke of various bands, and Canadian Yvonne Ducksworth of Combat Not Conform and Manson Youth. Their debut album Perpetuum Mobile appeared within the first twelve months, after which the group committed five further albums to tape while supporting major acts in the field, among them Ramones and Bad Brains, until the original run ended in 1996. The musicians nevertheless reconvened for selected performances that same year, and in 2007 they observed their twentieth anniversary with a European tour while issuing a CD compilation drawn from their earliest recordings.
