Biography
JJ Doom marks another team-up for underground rapper MF Doom, this time pairing him with producer and MC Jneiro Jarel in the same vein as his prior work alongside Madvillain, Danger Doom, and DOOMSTARKS. News of the venture first surfaced in late 2011 when the track "Rhymin Slang" received an early online preview. The finished version, reworked by TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek, surfaced in 2012 on Complex, Vol. 1, the Lex label's tenth-anniversary collection. Their debut album, Keys to the Kuffs, followed on the same imprint later that year and included appearances from Blur's Damon Albarn and Portishead's Beth Gibbons.
