JJ Lawhorn

At just seventeen, JJ Lawhorn secured a recording agreement with Average Joes Entertainment—the imprint launched by Colt Ford—after Nashville producer Jeremy Stover came across his early YouTube uploads. The label issued his first album, Original Good Ol' Boy, in 2013, when Lawhorn had turned nineteen; Stover handled production on the project, every song of which Lawhorn wrote or co-wrote, placing it squarely alongside Average Joes’ lineup of independent-minded, outlaw country acts whose mud-bogging style thrived well beyond the Nashville mainstream.
