Biography
From his father, Christian J. Andersen, Karl Andersen acquired his flute technique. He performed as a member of The Copenhagen Royal Orchestra before becoming one of the founding musicians in The Berlin PO. An affliction affecting his tongue ultimately forced him to abandon playing the flute, prompting his return to Copenhagen where he assumed the role of conductor for The Palace Orchestra. Beyond these positions, he created orchestral concert works featuring the flute and produced a set of 48 flute studies.
