Biography

Following abbreviated stints at Berklee College of Music and Musicians Institute—where he encountered “lots of great musicians that gave me better lessons than school”—Jody Whitesides traversed the United States before establishing residence in Los Angeles. Earlier engagements included work alongside Talisman and Jeff Scott Soto, after which he performed as a sideman with Danny Woods and additional artists. In his own studio he has produced material for Throwing Toasters, Seth Horan, and others. Concurrently he began composing original songs and building recognition throughout Los Angeles. His solo career commenced in 2000 with the release of E.A.R. (Energy Audio Revolution) on On Records. Subsequent albums include Is This Considered Naked, Initial Spank, A Natural Leap Forward, and Practical Insanity. Outside of touring, Whitesides composes for video games and serves as music supervisor for The Radio Adventures of Dr. Floyd, a program nominated for Best Educational Podcast 2005.
