Biography
In the 1990s, guitarist Joe Davis played alongside the Pinehurst Kids, only to launch a solo career in 2001 that highlighted his more intimate, acoustic approach. His tender compositions frequently evoked the style of Elliot Smith, prompting Davis to distinguish his new work from earlier projects by composing and laying down tracks for Hope Chest before the year concluded. Returning to the road with his group that autumn, the band permitted him to begin performances using his solo acoustic material.
