Biography
A native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, guitarist Joe "Blower" Garvey helped launch the post-grunge rock band Hinder. Music had already captivated him in childhood, yet he only began treating the guitar with real commitment once he reached college, where encounters with vocalist Austin Winkler and drummer Cody Hanson proved decisive. The three formed Hinder in 2001; three years afterward the lineup stabilized as a five-piece and quickly landed a contract with Universal Records. The group’s first album, Extreme Behavior, appeared in the fall of 2005.
