Biography
During the late 1960s, Joey Stec belonged to the sunshine pop outfit the Millennium, whose album Begin ranks among the period’s most significant yet overlooked releases. His vocals and playing also appeared on Sagittarius’s debut, Present Tense. Playboy Records issued his solo album in 1975; Stones producer Jimmy Miller shaped a collection that merges gentle ballads with understated rock drive. Poptones reissued the recording in 2000. Stec continues to collaborate with the label’s archivist Joe Foster on projects that bring forward unreleased material from the Millennium and its associated musicians.
