Biography
A skilled multi-instrumentalist on guitar, mandolin, and tenor banjo, Joey Wright also performs as a singer and songwriter whose services remain constantly sought after throughout Canada’s bluegrass and acoustic folk circles. He has appeared alongside Amy Millan, Oh Susanna, Pierre Schryer, Ron Hynes, and John Southworth, joined his wife Jenny Whiteley on numerous projects, maintained an enduring touring and recording partnership with Sarah Harmer, and belongs to the bluegrass ensemble Crazy Strings. As a solo artist he issued the albums Camp in 2003 and Clearly in 2005 before releasing his first recording for Black Hen Music, the all-instrumental Jalopy, in 2007. Wright resides in Elphin, Ontario, while making periodic extended visits to Toronto.
