John Kasadha, widely recognized under the stage name John Blaq, rose to prominence within Uganda's Afrobeat, rap, and dancehall circles after launching his mainstream breakthrough via the 2018 hit single "Tukwatagane," which he quickly followed by joining forces with Vinka on the chart-topping "Sweet Love."

Kasadha entered the world in the eastern city of Jinja and refined his singular vocal approach through hip-hop battles during secondary school. Informed by the numerous hardships of his upbringing in the Kampala suburb of Bewayogerere, he issued his debut single, "Romantic," in 2018. The releases of "Tukwatagane" and "Sweet Love" cemented his status as a fixture in the Ugandan Afrobeat scene, a position further strengthened by later singles such as 2019's "Do Dat" and 2020's "Ngamba," plus prominent collaborations with Sheebah, Grenade, Daddy Andre, and Prince Omar.
