Born during 1947 in the Welsh town of Lampeter, this guitarist earns considerable respect among peers yet fails to achieve the widespread recognition granted to inferior players on the instrument. Blending jazz, folk, and blues elements without fitting neatly into any single tradition, he navigates these genres effortlessly. The debut album he issued in 1970, titled Morning Brings The Light and released via Transatlantic Records, showcased his remarkable skill. Even with extensive appearances on television and joint performances alongside Eddie Walker under the name Carolina Shout, James continues to stay largely unfamiliar to audiences throughout Britain. Additionally, he has composed music for television soundtracks.
