Biography
Serving as a surgeon in the U.S. Army while also working as a guitarist and vocalist, Starling belonged to the progressive bluegrass band The Seldom Scene from 1971 through 1977. He spent the 1980s performing with several other ensembles before returning to The Seldom Scene in the early 1990s.
