Biography
In the Ontario blues community, Johnny Max has long been recognized as a seasoned performer and respected figure, serving as the frontman for his self-titled Johnny Max Band. Alongside guitarist Ted Leonard, pianist Martin Alex Aucoin, drummer Duncan McBain, and bassist Bruce Longman, the group built recognition through appearances at various festivals and concerts across Canada and the United States. The distinctive blend of Stax Records influences channeled through Chicago blues and country elements characterized their fourth release, A Lesson I've Learned, earning Johnny Max and his band a nomination for the 2008 Juno Award.
