Biography
A native of Jackson, Tennessee, Jonathan Singleton wrote a pair of number one hits for Gary Allan (“Watching Airplanes”) and Billy Currington (“Don’t”) before launching his own career in 2009. Fronting his band the Grove as a raspy singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Singleton favors the rootsy, outsider style of contemporary country also embraced by peers such as Steve Earle and Cross Canadian Ragweed. The self-titled debut album by Jonathan Singleton & the Grove appeared in May 2010 on Toby Keith’s Show Dog-Universal Records.
