Biography
Following the breakup of Detroit garage rockers the Covingtons, singer and guitarist Jonny Chan launched Jonny Chan and the New Dynasty 6 as its frontman in 1994. The project featured two Manhattan natives handling drums and bass, delivering a lo-fi '60s punk romp aesthetic that occasionally incorporated songs sung in Chinese. Dionysus Records issued the band's debut full-length, So You Want Action, in 1998.
