Biography
Josh Fox, a singer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer, has spent his entire career advancing the message of the Lord via song. Born in Humbolt County, California, he grew up with a mother who participated actively in her congregation and also created original pieces. At age 16 he experienced a spiritual awakening while simultaneously developing a passion for performing and composing. He started the first in a series of groups alongside friends, performing at coffeehouses and clubs, and by 19 he received an invitation to direct a worship ensemble in San Diego. During his twenties he moved to Santa Cruz, California, and joined Dan Kimball in a youth outreach that grew into an alternative worship service called Graceland. That gathering later became Vintage Faith Church, with Kimball emerging as a prominent voice in the Emerging Church movement. As Fox’s responsibilities within Vintage Faith Church’s music ministry expanded, his songwriting matured, leading to the 2005 release of his debut worship EP, Under the Mercy. The full-length album Radiant appeared in 2010, and after financing a subsequent project via crowdfunding he issued Rescue in 2013. He later established ties with San Jose’s WestGate Church and the Anthem School of Worship, an institution that trains students to strengthen their ministry effectiveness. In 2017 he released the five-song EP Come to the Cross.
