In 1483, Triana held the position of choirmaster for the boys at Toledo Cathedral. Around twenty of his works survive to this day, among them a pair of sacred compositions written in Spanish rather than the usual Latin, such as "Dinos, madre del donsel" and "Juysio fuerte sera dado." The latter represents a setting of the Song of the Sibyl, performed as part of Christmas Eve rituals in Spain. He further composed secular pieces that explore the romantic affairs of courtesans. Several of these exhibit notably energetic rhythms within the lower vocal lines, and one well-known text he chose features imitation between the superius and the tenor, positioned an octave apart.
