Biography
Growing up in Maryland, the melodic pop siblings Judd and Maggie first discovered their voices through family singing sessions at home. Their father urged them to start a band, prompting the brother-sister pair to take the stage at intimate venues and coffeehouses throughout Baltimore. Judd handled piano and guitar duties while Maggie contributed bass lines and lead vocals, allowing their understated yet profoundly affecting sound to attract attention from RCA Records, resulting in a recording contract. The duo's first full-length effort, Subjects, emerged in 2005 under the guidance of Joey Waronker, drummer for Beck, alongside his father Lenny Waronker, a renowned figure in music production.
