Biography
Hailing from Birmingham, England, Juice Aleem first emerged as part of the duo New Flesh, a hip-hop experimental act he formed alongside Toastie Taylor. His background in that project, combined with a bold, clipped vocal approach evoking both Pharoahe Monch and Dizzee Rascal, plus lyrics that weave seamlessly in and around the rhythm, made his first solo effort, Jerusalaam Come from 2009, an immediate recipient of widespread acclaim from critics. Blending sacred texts with worldly extravagance, his relentless delivery fuses the roles of reggae toaster, storyteller, and pitchman.
